Myocum Valley Farm

Farmer Sam, and little Alby!

Farmer Sam manages 400 acres in Myocum and is part of a progressive family farm where Bruno and son Johan are very passionate about developing sustainable farming practices and seeing their land do great things.  Running a herd of 80 cattle using holistic management practices - aiming at mimicking the natural patterns of a herd moving the cattle regularly. Sam is passionate about sustainable, intelligent farming practices and is a strong believer in using cattle to help better the soil and the biodiversity that exists there.

Rather than have this land set stocked with cattle and/or just mowed, Sam works regeneratively with cattle meaning his practices work at giving back to the land not just taking from it.

I have worked with Sam personally and can only say good things about his practices and ethics. Very happy to have Sam and being part of Byron Grass Fed and having his beef to offer to our wonderful customers.

It’s surprising how planned grazing and regenerative farming practices can lead to such amazing results. The herd almost lost in grass, after what’s been one of the driest summers in 25 years.
